This week in Year 4…
It’s been a busy week as we came to the end of Summer Term 1.
We ended the week focusing on the Christian festival of Pentecost. After learning about it’s meaning and significance in an assembly, we worked collaboratively in small groups to produce a soundscape art installation, which incorporated swirling wind lines, paper flames, music-inspired painting and key words like joy were hidden in the artwork.
In Science, we spent time discussing the positive impact humans can have on their environments. We focused on improving pollution, reducing urban development, trying to limit climate change and combating deforestation.
In Geography, we had great fun analysing the Year 4 parent’s responses to “Why do you live in Nottingham?” We had over 46 completed questionnaires, which were greatly appreciated – thank you parents!
During the week, we focused on the important work the NSPCC does and discussed the importance of talking to trusted adults about neglect, bullying and different forms of abuse.
Our focus in Maths continues to be on the forthcoming multiplication check, although this week we looked at ‘time’, converting into 12 hour to 24 hour time and comparing analogue and digital displays.
Have a great half-term break.
