Year 1 Visit to White Post Farm
Year 1 had a fantastic day at White Post Farm! The excitement began as soon as we climbed aboard the coach, which was a highlight of the day for many of the children.
Once we arrived, we had the opportunity to meet and feed lots of friendly animals, especially several breeds of sheep and goats. We also enjoyed an exciting tractor ride around the farm, where we spotted even more animals and learned about life on the farm.
As scientists, we put our learning into practice by classifying the animals we saw. Using our knowledge of the five animal groups (which you might remember are also our table names from the autumn term!), we used a classification tree to sort the animals. We also thought carefully about whether each animal was a herbivore, carnivore or omnivore.
Of course, no school trip would be complete without lunchtime! The children loved sitting together to enjoy their packed lunches before heading off for more farm adventures.
We are incredibly proud of how well the children represented our school throughout the day. They showed excellent behaviour, curiosity and enthusiasm, making the most of every opportunity.
A huge thank you to our wonderful parent helpers who gave up their time to support us. We couldn’t have had such a successful and enjoyable trip without your help!
