This week, Year 1 enjoyed learning all about Pentecost. We were very lucky to welcome back Vicky, the Children’s and Youth Pastor who we met during our visit to church in March. The children were excited to see a familiar face as she spoke to us in assembly about the story of Pentecost and how the Holy Spirit came to Jesus’ friends like flames of fire.
After the assembly, the children created their own fire headbands to represent the flames above the disciples’ heads. They worked incredibly hard to scrunch, twist and stick tissue paper to create bright, fiery flames. We were so proud of their creativity and the classroom was filled with lots of colourful “fire” and thoughtful discussions about this special Christian celebration!
