This week, we celebrated the end of our component of learning on Kenya with a special ‘Kenya Day’. We did some role play of our journey to Kenya – from our departure to flying over the Rift Valley to the Masai Mara. We imagined going on a sunset safari and created some pictures to represent what we saw. We also did some African ‘clock’ dancing and we learnt a ‘call and response’ song that we are going to perform at our helper assembly on Thursday.
The highlight of our week (and possibly our year!) has to be our ‘Big Sleepover’. We had great fun learning to be a bit more independent by spending a night away from our grown-ups sleeping on our classroom floor. We were kept busy with games, a BBQ, a disco and songs with Mr Taylor. Most of the children and adults got a good night’s sleep and we would like to say a huge thank you to everyone who helped make this a ‘night to remember’!
