This week, we have continued to learn about the adventures of Cottonwool Colin. We have examined the text by Jeanne Willis and looked for features that make the text engaging and funny. We’ve learnt some new words like ‘slalomed’, horrified’ and ‘shrieked’ and we’ve practised spelling these correctly. Mrs Hewes and Mr Minta wrote a ‘WAGOLL’ (What A Good One Looks Like) of a new adventure for Colin and we are going to use some of the ideas from this to write our own adventures next week. We also learnt about fronted adverbials of time. These are important for our readers so we will need to make sure we include some of these in our writing too.
We had a lovely end to our week with an art session on ‘mark making’. We learnt about tone and presssure and used different media (charcoal, wax crayons and pastels) to make different marks and patterns.
