As we reach the end of this incredibly busy and successful term, we would like to thank parents and carers for all their support. Following the very successful performance in the Summer term’s national assessments, the school has continued to progress this Autumn with new members of staff and a wide range of activities that continue to offer our children a tremendous variety of experiences. Despite an early impact from some seasonal bugs, our whole school attendance is still 96.9% (which is well above national averages) and we thank families for sharing our commitment to good school attendance.
In recent weeks, we have loved welcoming parents/carers to see our Year 2 Nativity, the Year 5 Carol Concert at St. Michael’s and the magical Foundation Nativity. All children have enjoyed parties and Year 1, Year 6 and Foundation have all been on trips out of school. In addition, pupils performed their Rock Steady Concerts for parents.
Year 6 enjoyed a WWII themed cooking day, where we made lots of recipes from WWII. This involved many cooking skills such as chopping, dicing, weighing, mixing, whisking, frying, boiling and baking. They really enjoyed tasting the food and deciding whether we would make them again for tea!
This week, the children have made their ‘doodler’. This is a product that can make marks and is powered by a simple circuit. The children built their circuit and designed their doodler based on the design criteria they made the week prior. The children also had a ‘Christmas experience’ with Cross Teach, where they learnt about the importance of Christmas to Christians.
We hope that you all have a lovely break and wish a very Happy Christmas to all those families who celebrate the festival.
