Year 5

This week, the children had a ‘sleep workshop’ where a visitor spoke about the importance of sleep. As a class, there was discussion about ways to help get a good night’s sleep.

In Maths, the children have been practicing short division and how to divide with remainders.

The children have continued to develop their writing and grammatical knowledge by writing sentences with non-finite clauses.

For D&T, the children are learning about different types of bridges. This week, their challenge was to make a truss bridge out of spaghetti which they really enjoyed!

In science, the children learnt about thermal and electrical conductivity. They looked at why these properties are important for the use of products in everyday life.
