Year 3

Castleton residential and Roman day

At our residential in Castleton, we lived as Roman soldiers. We built Siege engines to stage an attack against the Celts. We also learnt how to prepare for Roman battle: learning how to march, multiple formations and taking part in a Roman battle. We lived history by completing an interactive timeline complete with costumes and weapons.

We continued our Roman week by having a Roman day once we had returned. We looked at the significance of Roman roads, town, food, houses and decoration. We baked Roman honey biscuits and created beautiful Mosaics fit for a grand villa.
