In Year 2 this week, we have been learning about the countries of the United Kingdom. We used compasses to learn about directions and used these to describe where the countries were.
In science, we started to learn about how to classify different objects according to the different material they were made of. We learnt how to use tables – it was tricky but we got there!
We also found a strange object in the class – a giant piece of cottonwool with legs sticking out! We learnt that this was Cottonwool Colin – a mouse who was always ‘wrapped in cotton wool’ as his mum was afraid to let him out into the big wide world.
Next week, we will be learning about capital cities and how to test materials fior different properties. In English we will be working towards writing our own Cottonwool Colin adventure stories which we will be sharing with our partner class.
