Year 2

We have been working really hard in maths this week – learning all about money. We learnt how to recognise coins and notes and found that different amounts can be represented in different ways.

We made totals – trying to use the smallest amount of coins we could.

At the moment, we are learning about giving change using the ‘shopkeeper’s method’. We had to count on using an empty number line. This was quite tricky but we remembered out school mantras – ‘Practice makes permanent’ and ‘I haven’t got it…yet!’
