Creative Arts Week - Theme: Unity and Belonging

Our theme for ‘Arts Week’, is designed to enable children to reflect on who we are as individuals and the role that we play in being part of a community. The question ‘Who Am We?’ is grammatically correct in Korean and has been used as a title for a body of work by the Korean sculptor and installation artist, Do Ho Suh. The works examine ‘unique’ and ‘unison’ – our individual-ity and connectedness. We want children to consider the importance of belonging and recognising the part they play in commu-nity. This week is about experiencing a range of different art forms and being about to reflect on a theme through-line. Many art forms bring people together. People’s uniqueness and commonality is represented throughout the arts. Being able to create and experience art can give people a sense of belonging.
