Other Events

Physical Activity Celebration Event -  Fifteen Year 3 children attended this event on Wednesday 7th November at Chilwell Olympia. they took part in activities including drumming, badminton, jumping, rowing, stacking, balancing and even some dancing.

It was brilliant to see so many smiling faces, especially from those who had never ventured to the leisure centre before; and we hope that many will continue to build a love of physical activity.

Multi Skills Festival - 1H are attending this event on Wednesday 14th November at The Bramcote College. Pupils will  take part in skills based challenges that develop their agility, balance, and co-ordination; these will include running, jumping, throwing and catching stations.

Boccia - Wednesday 14th November at The Bramcote College - 9 children from Years 3-6 took part in the Boccia event in teams of three. Wadsworth Fields Primary School competed against us and I am pleased to say that BHPS were the winners.

Dodgeball - Thursday 29th November at Alderman White School - 12 children from Year 5 took part in the competition. We competed against Wadsworth Fields Primary School and Trowel C of E. Team A won all 5 of their games and Team B won 4 out of 5 of their games. One of our players was awarded the Spirit of the Games award for Determination. Well done Jack!

Higher Attaining Day - Tuesday 5th December at Nottingham University - 4 children took part in this exciting day. Activities included: Bouldering and Climbing, Badminton, Q&A session with university students and tour of DRSV facilities. Well done to Ben for winning a Badminton medal.

Inclusive Games - Wednesday 30th January at Kimberley School/Leisure Centre. 7 children attended this event and had a great afternoon. Activities included a visit to the vibe gym, boccia, curling/skittles and mini games in the gym.

Indoor Rowing - Thursday 7th February at George Spencer Academy.  8 children (1 boy and 1 girl from Years 3,4,5 and 6) took part in this event. We competed against 12 other teams and finished in 3rd place rowing a total of 4406m. Year 3/4 children had to row for 3 minutes and Years 5/6 had to row for 5 minutes. There was a team event, rowing for a total of 8 minutes. We had a great afternoon and were proud of our achievements. It was Giles and Grace's last time rowing for us!

Swimming Gala - Tuesday 12th February at Bramcote Leisure Centre.

Mini Basketball - Wednesday 13th February at Chilwell School. Two teams took part in the basketball competition. Team 'B' won the tournament and made it through to the county finals where they lost in the final by only 1 point!!

Higher Attaining Pupils Day 2 - Wednesday 27th February at Derby Arena.

Cheerleading Festival - Monday 11th March at George Spencer. We took a KS1 team and a KS2 team to this years Cheerleading Competition. Our KS1 team finished in 2nd place and our KS2 team finished 3rd. 

Orienteering (Year 4) - Wednesday 13th March at Bramcote College Field. 30 children had the opportunity to take part in this new event organised by a member of the British Orienteering Team and Bramcote College sports leaders. 

Years 3/4 Sportshall Athletics - Tuesday 19th March at Hall Park Academy.  This was another new event held this year. The children participating rose to the challenge and gave every event 100%. We finished in 4th place.  

Netball Festival - Thursday 21st March at The Bramcote College.

Netball Tournament (A Team ) - Thursday 28th March at George Spencer Academy.
