Odd Socks Day - Anti-Bullying
Our PSHE theme for the half term was 'Celebrating Differences' and part of this work focussed on Anti-Bullying. To mark Anti-Bullying week, we held a special themed day on Tuesday 12th November. It was 'Odd Sock Day'.
We embraced and celebrated the differences and similarities that make us all special. As part of the day, the children and staff had the chance to celebrate this in a positive and fun way by wearing odd socks to school.
As part of this year’s Anti-Bullying campaign, we urged everyone to think about how we can ‘Choose Respect’ instead of bullying, and how we can demonstrate this behaviour. Through assemblies and class-based activities, we talked about respect, about showing that you value someone, including valuing their feelings, views, and opinions, even if they differ from yours. We are also talked about accepting and understanding others, giving them the same consideration you would expect for yourself.
We had great fun, learnt so much about Anti-Bullying and saw an interesting variety of socks!
