The school has a governing body made up of elected parents and staff and members of the community. Their role is to provide strategic leadership, establish key principles and hold the leadership of the school to account. I have been a Governor since 2015, a role which I thoroughly enjoy - helping young people to achieve their potential is something I am passionate about.   My professional roles have provided me with experience in managing people and managing buildings, and all the associated tasks this brings such as appraising staff, managing projects (IT, building and change related), ensuring budgets are set and buildings managed safely and efficiently. Until 2015, I had been involved in Scouting for 25 years.

I joined Bramcote Hills Primary in April 2016 and, in addition to being Head Teacher, I am also a Governor of the school.  I have served on governing bodies for over 20 years at four different schools.  I have been involved in teaching since 1990 when I graduated from Nottingham Trent University (B-Ed Hons).  In total, I have worked in seven schools as a Teacher, Deputy Head and then, since 2004, as a Head Teacher.  I also try to see schooling from a parental perspective, having had two children go through the school system in the local area.  I am passionate about teaching and learning and am excited about what we can achieve at Bramcote Hills.
