A busy week for safeguarding
One of the key responsibilities of a Head Teacher is to oversee safeguarding and child protection procedures. This is something which we take very seriously at BHPS and we feel we have improved our practice significantly over the years. No matter how experienced you are, there are still safeguarding concerns that are difficult to deal with and which keep you awake at night. I always act in the best interests of the child and this can lead to some very challenging situations.
We are fortunate at BHPS to also receive excellent support and challenge from our link governor for safeguarding who is experienced in this field. This means that we continually challenge ourselves to do a better job and improve practice. Cases this week have been dealt with swiftly and effectively by the staff involved due to the on-going training (formal and informal) they receive.
