A Busy End to a Busy Half Term
One minute it was summer and now, suddenly, we have finished the first half term. It never ceases to amaze me how quickly the time flies.
The end of term was particularly busy. Parents’ evening week is very important to staff as it gives us a chance to see all of our parents and carers, especially those that are not able to be around at the start and end of the normal school day. We value the great attendance we get.
If that were not enough, we have held grandparents’ afternoons in yr 2 and a super ‘Windrush’ event in yr 6. The latter built on the work that the children had done with someone who had been part of windrush and it was great to be able to share this with parents and carers. Both yr 2 and yr 6 events reflect the element of purpose that we are trying to build into our SPARK curriculum (the P is for Purpose). It was brilliant to see how engaged the children have been because they could see a genuine end product and purpose to their work.
To finish the week off with a bang, we held our annual PTA Fireworks evening which was as spectacular as ever and I am grateful for the organisation of the PTA and families who support the event.
