An Interesting Week
An Interesting Week 22nd – 26th January
One of the things that I love about my job is the variety that it brings. No two weeks are ever the same and indeed it is sometimes hard to predict what will happen on a daily basis. It’s never boring.
Monday 22nd Jan
Finalising the January newsletter with individual attendance scores for each pupil. We are really working hard to improve our attendance figure to 98%.
Yr 6 SATs meeting in the evening. Explaining the tests and our approach to Yr 6 parents. A really well attended event.
Tuesday 23rd Jan
Had a meeting about setting up a support group for parents of children with SEND.
Looked on proudly whilst Mrs Reedman and Mrs Haynes hosted a parent KITE regarding our teaching of mathematics with a mastery approach. Couldn’t help but chip in! Watch out for the calculations policy coming soon on the website.
Wednesday 24th Jan
Conducted swimming trials for children in Yrs 5&6 in preparation for the local swimming gala. I love that so many children are able to join in with the trials.
With all our teachers, I attended a local ‘teachmeet’ when teachers from our local collaboration of schools presented ideas about improving teaching and learning. I was very proud of Miss Wright and Mrs Wiesemes who contributed from BHPS.
Thursday 25th Jan
Supported our quiz teams at a local school competition with several schools from the state and private sectors. We came 1st and 2nd!
Attended a meeting about our forthcoming peer review, working with HT colleagues and a LA improvement advisor.
Friday 26th Jan
Attended several meetings during the day and then rounded off the week be seeing the end of the Foundation and KS1 Film Night, organised by our PTA.
